Giselle Aika (ジゼル愛華)

Pixel Artist

Born in Brazil, Giselle Aika spent her childhood there and has lived in Japan since the fourth grade of elementary school.

Influenced by the futuristic landscapes of Shibuya and Harajuku and by pop culture symbolized by “kawaii,” she reconstructs Japanese and Heisei-era aesthetics as pixel art through the perspective of someone raised between cultures and with a young sensibility.

In 2021, she received an Excellence Award at the global pixel art contest Shibuya Pixel Art. In 2023, she created artwork at Ginza Miyake Miyauchi. In 2025, she held her first solo exhibition, “Time Traveler Giselle Aika: Ukiyo-e Dream Tales,” at Ginza Tsutaya Books.

By embedding stories and nostalgia into digital particles, she depicts a quiet world of time travel that moves between past and future, reality and fiction.
