RASUKU

Visual Artist

Painter and illustrator.

Born in Kagoshima Prefecture in 1997, RASUKU is currently based in Okayama, Japan.

RASUKU’s creative practice began with an exploration of the theme “scent and memory.” The figures depicted in the works are characterized by the absence of facial expressions, as if they are wrapped in fleeting fragrances and memories of moments that seem about to disappear.

Scenes of life imbued with a mysterious sense of transience are reconstructed and preserved through RASUKU’s distinctive approach to surrealism.

“If I were to describe my work in a single phrase, it would be ‘I want to be loved.’ I hope viewers will gently stay close to these imperfect subjects, watching over them as one would a child, and tenderly cherish their growth through a single, fleeting experience.”
