RASUKU

Visual Artist

Painter and illustrator.

Born in 1997 in Kagoshima Prefecture, currently based in Okayama, Japan.

RASUKU’s creative practice began with an exploration of the theme “scent and memory.”

The girls depicted in the works are characterized by the absence of facial expressions, embodying fleeting fragrances and memories of moments that feel as though they might vanish at any time.

Scenes of life imbued with a sense of mystery and transience are reconstructed and preserved through RASUKU’s distinctive approach to surrealism.

“If I were to describe my work in a single phrase, it would be ‘I want to be loved.’

I hope viewers will gently watch over these imperfect subjects, as if caring for a child, and lovingly witness their growth through ephemeral, momentary experiences.”
