佐藤理 (Osamu Sato)

Visual Artist, Designer, and Musician

A multimedia artist working across graphic design, games, photography, video, and music.

Born in Kyoto and currently based in Tokyo.

Raised by a father and grandfather who were both photographers, he studied design and photographic engineering during his student years, while also beginning to produce electronic music. His experimental and ambient works have been featured in NHK television programs, among others.

In 1991, he held his first solo exhibition featuring computer graphics. He went on to create the PC game Eastern Mind and the cult-classic PlayStation title LSD: Dream Emulator. Since then, he has continued to develop cross-disciplinary works that bridge music and graphics, presenting them both in Japan and internationally.

In recent years, he has released the albums GRATEFUL IN ALL THINGS and ROOTS, and launched the NFT project LSD TRANSFORMED. In 2025, he released the album Love Is Glamorous / Life Is Gorgeous as part of the unit LIG with Tomohiko Gondo.

He continues to explore the boundaries between sound, image, and consciousness through his ongoing practice.
