Jumbo Tsui

Curator, Director, and Photographer

Jumbo Tsui is a photographer and director,
born and raised in China and currently based in London.

He began his career by founding a television commercial production company
in central Beijing, where his work as a visual art director
quickly gained industry recognition.
As his creative focus shifted toward image-making itself,
he stepped away from this established path
to pursue photography as a more direct and personal form of expression.

Over the course of his 15-year career,
Jumbo has lived and worked across major fashion cities,
including Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai.
These experiences shaped his understanding of fashion
not as surface or styling,
but as a language closely connected to the body,
psychology, and lived experience.

His work has been featured in leading international publications such as
Vogue China, Vogue Japan, Vogue Singapore, Vogue Ukraine,
Harper’s Bazaar France, Harper’s Bazaar Australia,
Interview Magazine, i-D Magazine, Numéro,
GQ France, T Magazine, and NOWNESS.
He has also collaborated with fashion and luxury brands including
Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, Calvin Klein, Burberry,
Tom Ford, and Uniqlo.

Jumbo’s photography is characterized by a sense of romance and poetry,
balanced by restraint and structural clarity.
Through the tension between heightened sensitivity and rational order,
his images reveal a rich and introspective inner world.

“I expect a more dramatic form of expression.
In an editorial, you can fuse music, literature, visual arts,
and even psychological nuances
to convey fashion to the audience in a more compelling way.”
