URO is a self-described “professional prankster” who creates works at the intersection of mischief, entertainment, and technology. A graduate of Digital Hollywood University, URO aims to establish “prank creative” as a cultural language that will still exist centuries from now. URO’s practice transforms everyday emotions and impulses into playful, participatory experiences. Rather than suppressing negative feelings, the work reframes them through humor and technological interaction, inviting audiences to become active participants. In the interactive piece Popunpun Corn, human anger is converted into popcorn. When participants stomp their feet in front of a popcorn machine, their movements are measured as an “anger level,” which directly determines how much popcorn is produced. The popcorn generated from one’s own anger is then shared with others. By turning frustration into something tangible, edible, and communal, URO’s work encourages laughter, stress relief, and a positive emotional cycle—demonstrating how playfulness can reshape the way we experience our feelings.
