LUKAS WORKS

Visual Artist

LUKAS WORKS places light at the heart of his practice—not only as a physical phenomenon, but as a universal language that reveals the invisible dynamics shaping our world. Through light’s ability to inform, shape, and sometimes distort perception, he questions the interconnection between humanity, nature, and urbanization.

His work operates at the crossroads of the visible and the invisible, drawing on archetypes and the collective unconscious described by C.G. Jung as timeless imprints of humanity. Marked by cultural influences spanning Europe, Africa, and Asia, he integrates elements from ancestral traditions—totems and indigenous figures—alongside post-industrial fragments and urban patterns.

This dialogue between tradition and modernity, between the sacred and the profane, reflects a search for balance in a world in perpetual transformation. His graphic and pictorial approach follows the lineage of free figuration (Robert Combas, Hervé Di Rosa), embracing instinct and spontaneity while holding space for ecological urgency and the (utopian) desire to reconcile nature with urban expansion, memory with progress.

Through hybrid forms, mutations, and metamorphoses, LUKAS WORKS explores how our relationship to space and the collective imagination is continuously redefined—across exhibitions and residencies in cities including Paris, Seoul, and Tokyo.
