Painter, Director, and Musician
CASE-K MOONSHINE is also a legendary music producer who is indispensable to the history of Japanese rock.
From the 1980s through the 1990s, he worked with numerous artists including LOUDNESS, BOØWY, ZIGGY, LINDBERG, Kyosuke Himuro, and Naomi Tamura, playing a decisive role in shaping the Japanese rock scene.
Even after the 2000s, his name remained deeply etched in the memories of many fans as one of the central figures behind the X JAPAN revival project.
Around 2010, however, after nearly 40 years of music activity, he began to suffer frequent episodes of sudden hearing loss. By 2015, it had become difficult for him to continue producing music.
At that turning point, he came face to face with another form of expression he had long kept deep within himself: painting.
In 2018, he officially declared himself a painter under the name CASE-K MOONSHINE and began a new creative journey.
From music, an art of time, to painting, an art of space.
In his works, the energy, memory, and rebellious spirit contained within rock are fixed as color and composition.
His paintings quietly prove that rock continues to sound on, even across a silent canvas.
